蕭錦嫺生於香港,二零零六年修畢香港藝術學院與澳洲皇家墨爾本理工大學合辦的藝術文學士,主修陶瓷。二零一一年,她於香港中文大學取得藝術文學碩士銜。
蕭女士分別獲二零零五年及二零零七年陶瓷茶具創作比賽優秀獎和季軍。並於二零一零年取得藝術推廣辦事處的中國書法創作獎。二零一二年蕭女士參加日本信樂陶藝之森的藝術家留駐計劃。二零二零年,她獲得香港藝術發展局資助到荷蘭歐洲陶瓷中心作藝術家留駐計劃。
蕭錦嫺現任香港藝術學院兼職講師,香港視覺藝術中心陶瓷藝術專修課程(2023-2024)課程統籌及導師,香港當代陶藝協會主席。
蕭女士的作品探索生命的意義,充滿女性靈敏細膩的特質。作品為香港藝術館、日本信樂陶藝之森、台灣當代陶藝館和私人收藏。
Born in Hong Kong, Siu Kam Han received her BA (Fine Art), from Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University (co-presented with Hong Kong Art School) in 2006, and MA (Fine Art) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2011.
Entered twice in the competition of Tea Ware by Hong Kong Potters 2005 and 2007, Siu won the Price of Excellence and the Third Price respectively. The Creative Award of Art Specialist Course 2009-2010 (Chinese Calligraphy) was presented to her by the Hong Kong Visual Art Centre of Art Promotion Office. She had an Artist-in Residency Program at The Shigaraki Ceramics Cultural Park, Japan in 2012. In 2020, granted by the Art Development Council, she went to the European Ceramic WorkCentre in the Netherlands for an artist-in-residency.
Siu is currently a part-time lecturer of Hong Kong Art School. Siu is also the Course Coordinator and Tutor of Art Specialist Course (Ceramics) 2023-2024, organised by Hong Kong Visual Arts Centre. Chairperson of Contemporary Ceramic Society(HK).
Siu’s work explores the meaning of life. Her female subtle and refined sensibility is observed. Her works are collected by the Hong Kong Museum of Art, The Shigaraki Ceramics Cultural Park, Taiwan Contemporary Ceramics Gallery and private collectors.
